A event held at The Ill Repute on Thursday 18th September. The event starts at 20:00.

"We offered you a second chance at life. You took it."

On Thursday 18th September, step into the eerie, hypnotic world of Seconds (1966) — a haunting blend of sci-fi paranoia, existential dread, and psychological horror from master director John Frankenheimer (The Manchurian Candidate).

Middle-aged banker Arthur Hamilton is weary of his life — until a shadowy organisation offers him a way out. A new face. A new identity. A chance to start over. But freedom comes with strings attached… and some pasts are impossible to outrun.

Rock Hudson takes the lead in one of his most daring and vulnerable performances — playing a man living behind a false identity, hiding from the truth of who he is. Mirroring Hudson’s own life as a closeted gay man in the image-obsessed world of 1960s Hollywood, Seconds gains an extra layer of tragic resonance.

Part psychological thriller, part sci-fi paranoia, part existential tragedy — Seconds is as much about the masks we wear as the lives we lead.
