Eric Rushton: I Had A Dream And You Were All In It
A show about how the death of a father led to the birth of a joke about Chris Kamara.

Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2020, Eric Rushton brings his highly anticipated debut hour to the Edinburgh Fringe, and is here to preview in Bristol.

Ever since he was a little boy, Eric has dreamt of being a commercially viable stand-up comedian that could effortlessly entertain both you and your extended family. This is his chance to make that dream come true.

This is a show about birth, death and that bit in between that many people refer to as life.

In January 2020, Eric’s father unfortunately passed away, which is a euphemism for died. He died. After a long illness his body packed in and shutdown for good like an old, broken laptop. But unlike a laptop, when a dad dies, there are no nerds that can fix it. And you can’t just buy a new one with a superfast 8-core processor. Pretty sad. What’s even sadder is that Eric’s dad died just before the pandemic so he wasn’t able to capitalise on it artistically.

This show is his first opportunity to convert his grief into laughs. Is that healthy? Probably not. Is anything healthy? Yes. Fruit and that. Also Huel. Look it up.

Expect salty language, sweet facial expressions and hand gestures with far too much oregano on them.

“The jokes were immaculate, and the performance was really, really funny.
I loved it!”
Tom Rosenthal on Union Jack Radio

Since his comedy debut in 2014, Eric Rushton has been mixing with the best newcomers on the comedy scene, and impressing audiences with his intelligent, playful material and likeable, self-deprecating stage persona.

In January 2020 he won the prestigious 'Leicester Mercury Comedian of The Year' award - an award that was previously won by the likes of Romesh Ranganathan, Jason Manford and Jonny Vegas on their way to stardom.

Before that he was a Chortle Student finalist in 2016 and So You Think You're Funny? finalist 2017. He is a regular performer at the UK's biggest comedy clubs and festivals, and this year will be performing his debut hour at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Hosted by Charlie Bowers.

Doors at 7.30pm, show starts at 8pm. If you are planning to eat at the venue beforehand - please order by 7pm.
