Clay Bottom Jug Busters are Bristol’s neighbourhood jugband playing booty shaking blues hits from the streets of Memphis circa 1930. Fronted by Joe Strouzer playing harp and jug alongside Joseph Trudgeon on guitar, Tim Hearn on mandolin, Sadie Capps on upright bass and Paul Archibald on drums, it’s one hell of a show.
Joe Strouzer sings songs from his travels from Newcastle to New Orleans and a hell of a lot of places in between. His driving resonator guitar is coupled with true harmonica voodoo and biting songwriting of modern trouble, heartpains, moonlit trysts, drinking and devilment, peppered with a rich history of blues.
