Charlie + Jake Same Old Story Single Release Party at Illustrate, Park Street

A gig on Saturday 21st September. The event starts at 19:30.

Hello friends!

We're releasing our second ever single and you know what that means? We're having a release party! And as S Club 7 once said, ain't no party like a Charlie + Jake Single Release Party.

Join us for a cosy evening of jazz, groove + silly socks at Illustrate Cafe on Park Street. There will be tea + cake + fairy lights. If you would like something a bit more bubbly + alcoholic then you're more than welcome to bring your own drinks (we will be!).

"Picture yourself at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. It’s the small hours of the morning and there’s just a simple piano and microphone set-up on the stage. Here’s Charlie + Jake and this is Same Old Story...” - Pete Simson, BBC Radio Bristol

We'll also be joined by the lovely, talented Aniya Savage: Ethereal, haunting vocals paint pictures of Aniya Savage's multi-cultural life. Her songwriting tells stories that are entrenched in vivid emotion.

We're quirky, jazzy duo Charlie + Jake and we play original songs weaving stories of love, friendship and sense of place. Our shows are cute and cheerful, sometimes wandering into the misty and mellow then swiftly dropping into the groovy and sassy to get everyone clapping along again! We're all about feeling 'at home': we record our music in our home studio in Bedminster, lots of our instruments are homemade (think shakers made of chickpeas and lentils!) and we always wear our silliest socks on stage!
