A
event
on Thursday 2nd June. The event starts at 19:00.
Ringing in summer, June and the bank holiday is our next beautiful Tonic night. We love to celebrate music and spoken word talents in the South West and further afield!
Come for the short Open Mic, Scratch Showcase of brand new material, the Q&A, Half-Time Scratch and headline set by spoken word superstar Kathryn O'Driscoll.
If you fancy getting on the Open Mic, you'll be invited to pop your name in a hat to be drawn at random. This is to increase inclusivity for those who can't make it to our venue for the very beginning of doors opening.
HEADLINER
Kathryn O’Driscoll is a spoken word poet, writer and activist from Bath, England. She talks openly about disabilities, mental health, LGBTQIA+ issues and joys and gender politics in her wide range of poems.
Kathryn is a former UK Slam Champion and a World Slam Finalist (2021). Aside from performing poetry across the South West, she has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, at multiple UK National competitions, on BBC Radio Bristol and was featured on the BAFTA-winning Sky Arts spoken word TV show Life and Rhymes.
She has a first class degree in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and her debut collection, Cliff Notes, was released with Verve Poetry Press in 2022.
Cliff Notes will be available for purchase on the night.
