A gig held at The Jam Jar on Friday 16th January. The event starts at 19:30.

Lokkhi Terra’s music spans across continents fusing together the sound of Cuba, West Africa, Bangladesh and London for a multicultural collaboration of music and culture creating a sound that is distinctly new! This time with ex-Fela Kuti keyboardist and legendary UK Afro-beat ambassador Dele Sosimi! Led by Classically trained Jazz pianist Kishon Khan whose musical vision for the band was inspired by his time spent living in Havana, exploring the links between Cuban genres and the complex rhythms of his south Asian heritage. The band epitomizes the multicultural fondue that is London with members from across the globe drawing inspiration from the music of their homes. Expect fusions you've never heard before Afrobeat Rhythms colliding with Dub basslines and Bangla Vocals. You do not want to miss this! Featuring the two pianos of Kishon Khan and Dele Sosimi – Cuban percussionist/vocalist Javier Camilo (Ibrahim Ferrer) - Conga Maestro Oreste Noda (Ariwo) - a horn section led by Justin Thurgur (Bellowhead) and Graeme Flowers (Kyle Eastwood) to name a few – this is an All- starcast. Plus support from Bristol rising star ; AMRI ! Amri fuses her roots in Indian Carnatic music into her much-loved Soul and R&B to create a fresh, new, colourful sound. Her lyrics touch on her exposure in the world as a young woman of colour; translating this into both lyric and sound. Born and primarily brought up in London alongside Guernsey, amri draws from these experiences in her writing. Now based in Bristol with her band, amri blends between the smooth, sultry edges of jazz and soul with brass and sitar, creating a unique fusion that’s not one to miss.. Twende is a party celebrating music from across the world, bringing people together to dance, connect and let loose. We work alongside a charity based in Kenya called EKO (Educating Kenyan Orphans) that runs a school in Nairobi providing vital Education for young people in the area. A percentage of our profits from every gig we do is donated to the Charity. Please consider donating if you able too
