Buena Bristol Social Club is a unique collaboration of Cuban and Bristol‑based musicians, created and directed by Cuban trumpeter Michel Padron (Billy Cobham, Cesária Évora, Totó la Momposina, ASERE). Inspired by the legendary Buena Vista Social Club, the project celebrates the timeless sound of Cuban music while weaving in Bristol’s distinctive musical spirit.
The 10‑piece ensemble features some of the UK’s finest Latin musicians, including pianist Jim Blomfield (aka Jimmy Montuno), whose montunos bring irresistible authenticity, and vocalist Luisa Santiago, whose spellbinding voice adds depth and soul. Together, they deliver performances that are both faithful to Cuban tradition and infused with Bristolian creativity.
