Since he arrived on the scene back in the late 1990s, Matt Ford aka DJ Format has been known as a prime mover in the good-time throwback retro hip hop scene, along fellow travellers like Jurassic 5 and Ugly Duckling. 

Real heads will also know that he's an internationally-revered crate digger and record maven, always on the search for new old sounds from around the world, from Eastern Europe to Western Africa - which is why we've invited him to play for us at La Bomba. Tonight he's leaving the hip hop at home, to play a killer set of hectic worldwide psychedelic funk alongside La Bomba residents John Stapleton and Boom Operator. 

Expect Brazilian samba-soul, Cuban fuzz-funk, and a whole lot more, with one destination only - the dance floor!
