Bigbromo Promo presents

HOME SHALL RISE Single Launch and Gaza fundraiser.

75% proceeds to the Gaza Family Fund. Administered by David Mowat this goes directly to 18 families in Gaza known to David since Oct 2023 or before. 25% will be given to MAP Medical Aid to Palestinians.

Julie Abbé’s new music project began with a poem by Gazan writer Ibrahim Yaghi expressing the Palestinians’ hope to rebuild Gaza. He wrote it in 2024 during the genocide, in Deir Al Balah, shared it with his friend David Mowat who shared it with Julie who has put it to music and recorded it in partnership with « Rise As One », a collective of musicians from many origins celebrating values of diversity, solidarity, hope and resilience.

Julie will be performing her spine-tingling settings of more poetry written by Ibrahim Yaghi and legendary Sufi poet Hafiz, together with other powerful new songs. She expresses the urgency of focusing on our common needs and humanity in this age of misinformation feeding the rise of fascism.

Julie's album 'Out Of The Ashes' received critical acclaim

"Tender, expressive... poignant and poetic... Formidable!" The Guardian ⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Exquisitely mellow vocals... Every track is a gem." Folk London Magazine
"Powerful, haunting... A very stylish album from an assured and accomplished writer, poet, songstress" Irish Music Magazine

Also performing, each highly acclaimed in their own right are

Nabra oud/singer duo from Sudan/Germany
BEJE, a world jazz collective
The Ozcan Ates band playing Anatolian folk music.
