A clubnight held at The Jam Jar on Thursday 1st October. The event starts at 22:30.
-B is a pioneering force in UK underground music, best known for his influential role in shaping the sound of UK garage and dubstep. From his early days as one half of ’90s UKG royalty Groove Chronicles, to founding the infamous Ghost Recordings, El-B has continually evolved his sound while whilst always paying homage to London's darker sounds. More recently, he has continued to push boundaries alongside London’s forward-thinking GD4YA crew.
A key figure in the early UK garage scene, El-B’s unmistakable sound has continued to resonate across generations, bringing depth, darkness and serious dancefloor energy wherever he plays.
Joining him is Kat CW and Bristols own Boogie Cafe. Kat is a founder of the Brakery collective and the force behind cult night Analogue Lounge. Her selections move freely between funk, jazz, house and broken beat, with a focus on soulful, percussive sounds built for the dancefloor.
Boogie Café is an independent record label and DJ crew with an 11-year history rooted in broken beat, nu-jazz and house. Co-owned by Alex in Bristol and Chezz in Rotterdam, the label’s music policy centres on groove-led, rhythm-driven tracks with a strong sense of musicality, drawing on influences from jazz, soul and funk.
With over 50 releases to date and regular parties across Bristol and Rotterdam, Boogie Café continues to champion forward-thinking music and bring like-minded dancers together on both sides of the Channel.
