Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp at The Jam Jar
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Freewheeling cultureclash orchestra traversing free jazz, post-punk highlife and minimalist classical with transcendental results. Think Sonic Youth + Glen Branca’s downtown NY guitar ensemble covering Fela Kuti and you’re not even close (maybe Sons of Kemet raiding the Philip Glass’ songbook is closer…but you’ll have to see for yourself)."

Thursday 14th December
The Jam Jar Presents
Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp
+ Support from Blind Yeo

This 12 piece fuse musical styles into an uncategoriseable eruption of sounds: grooving trombone riffs, soaring string arrangements, guitar jangles, marimba stabs and polyrhythmic percussion all come alive in an energetic concoction of afro-avantgarde, folk harmony, repeating minimalist electronica fusion and tropical symphonic post punk.

Perhaps best to take a listen yourselves - the 5th recorded outing ‘We’re OK, But We’re Lost Anyway’ comes highly recommended for a dive into the sonic world of OTP Marcel Duchamp.
