- L'ELCAIR -
FFO: David Axelrod | CAN | Mildlife
We can't wait to invite L'Eclair back after their debut Bristol show with us last year. It blew us away seeing what felt like a group transcending the live experience beyond the conventions of a regular band performance towards something more akin to an intensely euphoric, awe-inspiring clubnight set.
The band’s most recent influences nod to CAN, Piero Umiliani, and Tangerine Dream- seamlessly blended with the unique sound L’Eclair has established over the years. Wider ranging influences include the house grooves of 80s Madchester and Aphex twin, as well as the textures and ambience of Boards of Canada.
L’Eclair’s songwriting and production at times recalls the golden age of Library Music, though with a decidedly modern twist, blending groovy cinematics with a tension and release approach.
Their latest album - Confusions - is sure to attract fans of hip-hop, recalling the likes of producers Madlib, MF doom, and J Dilla. The ever-present dub and house influences bubble up here and there but despite the many inspirations behind Confusions, the sound is pure L’Eclair.

- HAWKSMOOR -
FFO: | Brian Eno | Tangerine Dream | Delia Derbyshire
Hawksmoor (James McKeown) follows a path along the electronic skyways first created by the German/Krautrock electronic pioneers of the 1970s such as Cluster, Ash Ra Tempel, Roedelius and Michael Rother, alongside the British retro-futurism and the cultural memory bank aesthetic of hauntology - Ghost Box, Mount Vernon Arts Lab, Advisory Circle, Focus Group etc.
Using strictly modular synths (Moog Sub37), electronic drum rhythms, and guitars, Hawksmoor creates an electronic landscaped music world that is both new and old, immediately identifiable and yet utterly unique.
