Welcome to our first ever Worm Disco ‘Valentines’ Club!

This is one for lovers. Reggae lovers. Dub lovers. Cumbia lovers. Lovers of a little dance and mid-week drink. Lovers of tropical or Jamaican inspired sounds that resonate with your 'en calma' side.

When the chance came up to host Puerto Rico’s incredible retro-vintage-loving artist in Bristol as part of his first UK tour, we thought we should turn it into an evening of truly nice vibes at the wonderful Jam Jar.

Puerto Rico born Pachy García started playing guitar at a young age, but his developing interest for early Jamaican music made him switch to Piano & Bass instead. It wasn’t until he relocated to Los Angeles that he began self teaching himself the Drums.

After having enough gear to make his own recordings out of his basement, Pachy, a one man music machine, began recording music to pay homage to the early Reggae pioneers he grew up listening to. He named the studio “333House” and started learning techniques used by the engineers responsible for shaping the sound of early dub reggae, particularly Scientist and King Tubby.

His sound is part late 60's and 1970's Jamaica, but also indebted to Latin American sounds and groove! His recent album 'Switched On' builds upon the success he's had with past albums such as 'The Return of Pachyman' and singles 'All Night Long' and 'Destroy The Empire'..

---

To top off this evening of steady dancing and good vibes we've also got DJ Miss Mash and Panther Panther!

Miss Mash is gonna be selecting original Lovers Rock on vinyl on the night and it's also Miss Mash's birthday so let's all get down low to her selections!

As the support live act on the night we have invited 'Panther Panther’ …
Panther Panther is Bristol native Pablo Villierez, who is also the founder member of the wonderful 'Xaman X' band. With Panther Panther expect a set of Cumbia tinged electronics and organic sounds melded together in a dubby and loopy hypnotic sonic soup!

---

Bring a good friend, bring a date, bring your lover. Let's get warm and easy… and let’s wiggle!
