“masterful collaborations of kora and accordion ... a gem from start to finish” (Songlines UK **** top of the world”)
Nearly three years after their first opus and a hundred concerts around the world, Ablaye Cissoko reunites with the talented Cyrille Brotto for a masterful new collaboration blending kora, vocals, and accordion.
Titled "Djiyo" (which means "water"), this album is like a river uniting the lands it flows through, harmoniously merging Manding and Occitan traditions.
In this intimate and spiritual musical journey, the two virtuosos reinvent their relationship with their instruments, offering a luminous conversation tinged with melancholy, a poetic and intense dialogue, and a magnificent lesson in music and humanism.
