See event details

A event held at KIT FORM on Saturday 26th July. The event starts at 18:00.

Saturday 26th July
18:00 - 21:00

Come and enjoy a fun evening of sticking and pasting with a purpose,
FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!! As part of the Mother Mars exhibition at KIT FORM, we’re hosting an evening of collage and connection.

Surrounded by incredible artworks exploring the complexities of Mars, Earth, and space travel, you’ll be guided in creating a symbolic collage that celebrates you. Think of Earth and Mars as an analogy - this is a chance to reflect on who you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re heading. You’ll make a beautiful, meaningful piece of art to take home, alongside some beautiful people and memories.

Wait… what do you mean by an analogy of Mars?

Bristol-based artist Dani Hawkes will guide you through the process of symbolic collage-making. You’ll choose to work with either Earth elements, representing celebration of your current self and achievements or Mars elements, symbolising goals, aspirations, or the person you’re becoming.

Dani’s art practice uses collage to explore women’s experiences of existing in the world, creating space for expression, reflection, and connection. This workshop brings that ethos to you. It’s about celebrating yourself and connecting with others, in whatever way feels right for you.

No previous art or collage experience needed - just bring your gorgeous self. Everyone is welcome!

What do I need to bring?
Nothing! All materials are
provided.

What to expect:

A relaxed and welcoming workshop with a little group interaction and lots of time for personal making.
A beautiful, supportive evening, surrounded by incredible art and badass humans.
A bar which has alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Collage tips and guidance from Dani throughout.
An inspiring piece of artwork to take home - and maybe some new friends too!

Will I need to share personal stuff?

Nope! If you’re thinking, “This sounds amazing, but I don’t want to share my story with strangers,” don’t worry. You’ll never be expected to overshare. Dani will gently guide the session in a way that encourages connection without putting you on the spot.
