See event details

A gig held at KIT FORM on Saturday 30th August. The event starts at 19:00.

One promoter extremely enthusiastic about the unbridled second generation of Soundcloud rap, one collective birthed out of Bristol making some of the most consistently evocative, cutting-edge pluggnb/digicore/hyperdrill of the 2020s. So why not link-up? Core members, founders & friends of the legendary Modern Day Music performing live from 7-11. Then it's Realist Alive, so you're getting another pair off the London post-club prodigy pipleline, in hyperactive Trauma Unit resident Overshine & deconstructive baile-funk/EDM omnivore DJ veneno pra rato, taking us deeper into the night.

Modern Day Music - Rit / Farella / Dk Shawtyy / 02Kudo / Nox / Light9 / olus

No single sound has ever distilled by which MDM could be simplified. Rit's angelic emo-rap has evolved from agonisation into acerbic confidence. Her 2025 debut album Stump renders dreamy plaintiveness and heartfelt subject matter into a record incomparably beautiful. Farella's chirpy, braggadocious hyperpop has shifted thru love-smitten trance trap into a maturer, recent sound incorporating the melancholy of cloud rock and blasted sonics of rage rap. Dk Shawtyy's the backbone, making harder pluggnb and jerk than anybody else out right now. Nox brings a harmony and raw feeling distinct from the narcotic materiality of much contemporay luxury rap. 02Kudo (fka Freddie Skinz) is the wildcard, fluctuating between a hypnotic drawl and squaeky boastfulness over halcyon instrumentals in inimatable fashion. Support comes from MDM architect Light9 [DJ] and olus' EDM-inflected, intoxicating pop.

Realist Alive -

Overshine - The last of the Trauma Unit core for Realist to draft down to Bristol, Overshine's frenetic mixes have ignited MOT for a minute now. Emerging from a background in electropop and trance, Overshine brings a lightning-quick, technical mixing style and a virtuosic library encompassing everything fromh guaracha, deconstructed club, jungle and gabber. If you saw any of Realist's last four London imports, you'd know just to trust the taste by now.

DJ veneno pra rato - Having only made his club debut earlier this year at TraumaExcalibur, Gio comes sounding almost fully-formed. Dexterously weaving deconstructed club, baile-funk, UK rap and EDM, his jubilant, wholehearted style can be traced through the recording of that MOT set, taking the reins for Nuances' debut mix, and a pair of self-released sets. An expert already in generating atmosphere, building a joyous dancefloor and still sidestepping expectations at any opportunity, Gio's a mega-talent currently in-bloom, and guides us into the Realist section of the night.

tskali - Realist co-founder tskali has in under a year developed a discomfitingly indivudal sound. With the monthly radio show Nervous Music (chunt.fm) and guest radio spots from London to LA and back to Bristol (Noods/PTS/Trust Exercises), he can be heard restlessly hopping from hyperglitch to deathstep, neo-classical to raptor house, often all in the same breath. Closing the night, our final set promises equal parts heaviness and unreadability.

Limited early bird tix. £12 OTD.
No-one turned away for lack of funds, so hit up @realist___alive and we can work it out.
