Then Til Now at KIT FORM

A event held at KIT FORM on Saturday 4th July. The event starts at 10:00.

A special exhibition and weekend-long celebration of the cultural legacy of St Pauls, bringing together music, photography, art and community history.

Marking the 50th anniversary of Jah Lokko Sound System, Forward Ever explores three interconnected stories at the heart of St Pauls: the work of Poor Man's Friend Records and the legacy/history of its artists, five decades of Jah Lokko's contribution to Bristol's sound system culture, and the enduring spirit of St Pauls Carnival.

Featuring a collection of music, art, photography and archival material from the Poor Man's Friend and Jah Lokko Crews, alongside historic images documenting St Pauls from the 1970s onwards, the exhibition celebrates the people, places and sounds that have shaped the community across generations.

Across the weekend, a programme of music curated by Snoopy of Jah Lokko brings together artists, selectors and sound system veterans to honour fifty years of Jah Lokko's contribution to Bristol culture.

Poor Man's Friend Records will also have two exclusive records (vinyl) releasing that same weekend, there will be a small amount of limited edition copies available at the Kit Form event.

Featuring: Blackout JA, Bristol Reggae Society, Eeyun Perkins (Waggle Dance / Herb Nest), Eyes (Two Step Forward), Freckles, Jah Lokko (Arthur & Snoopy), Martin Melody (Poor Man's Friend), Mikey Notch (3rd Dimension Sound), Paul Solution, Poor Man's Friend Sound System, Rider Shafique, Rossi Roots and Rubba.

Join us at Jamaica Street Studios & KIT FORM, for a celebration of sound, creativity and community.
