A event held at KIT FORM on Saturday 5th September. The event starts at 14:00.
## Flower Pounding Workshop
Sit amongst the nature-inspired exhibition in the KIT FORM gallery and join artist Jess Way for a hands-on introduction to the Japanese technique of ‘Tataki Zomé (flower pounding), a process of hammering flowers into paper and fabrics. We'll be using the plants that grow in the local area to explore different compositions and experience the beautiful colours that nature can create.
Jess will bring in flowers/ plants and all the materials needed, however participants are encouraged to bring flowers/plants from their own gardens to try out- it's a great way to make your fabrics and papers feel more personal to you. In a previous workshop one woman brought flowers from her garden (she was soon to move house) and created a beautiful artwork in celebration of the flora and fauna she had grown there!
Please note that we will be using light-weight hammers during the session, so the minimum age is 16 and accompanied by an adult.
No experience needed, 10 spaces available.
This workshop is being hosted in collaboration with the nature-inspired exhibition that will be in the KIT FORM gallery. For more details head to their website - https://www.kit-form.com/whats-on
