Bristol Experimental Puppetry Festival ✷ brings you a very special and enchanting evening of ritualistic puppetry, worship of creation and imagination, sounds and shadows, cardboard and foam, featuring puppet gore and puppet surgery ✷

With Presentations from The Enchanted Surgery of London, and Quanta Qualia from Italy, with an interval in between more on their performances below.

The Enchanted Surgery ✷

The Enchanted Surgery is a continuously evolving, immersive, interactive and ritualistic performance, featuring colourful characters, songs, masks and puppets. For any audience however more suitable for adults due to scenes of puppet gore.

Will the good doctor surgeon be able to ward off Death and preserve the life of his suffering patient? What if letting the patient live could lead to greater suffering for the rest of the world? Why is the nurse so sexy? And what does the Toothfairy have to do with any of this?

These questions are to be answered by the the spectators of this spectacle, who will have a direct influence on its outcome, which in turn affects the next iteration of the show.

As of our last show a new ventriloquism puppet has taken centre stage, namely The President. We expect everyone to be at their best behaviour or we might all get fired.

PAPO CUCARACHA VERTEDERO EL 3RO'S MUSIC WAS IN A FOLDER OF A CORRUPTED USB FOUND IN EXCAVATIONS AFTER THE DIGITAL APOCALYPSE

Papo Cucaracha Vertedero el 3ro is the project of Kevin Emilio Pérez a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and sound designer based in New York City via Puerto Rico. Since 2011, Pérez has operated out of his Brooklyn-based studio, developing a practice that bridges the gap between visual art, experimental audio engineering, and physical performance.

QUANTA QUALIA acts as an explorative collective moving by all means of creation and imagination.

Our team is formed by the Belgian/Chilean duo of Siet Phorae and Reverendo 23.

A multimedia spectacle that explores the interactions between dance, music, scenography and puppets. An array of big and tiny characters made out of foam and cardboard, from the cartoonish to the mythic, fantastic to stupid, funny to deep, transmute through different dimensions, passing from one media to another, revealing something of their/our spirit in an explosion of their potentials across matter.

The music is mixed and performed live by the team with potential participation of the audience.
