A event held at KIT FORM on Wednesday 20th August. The event starts at 19:30.

'Show Me The Gays' is an independent LGBT+ journalism platform run by freelance LGBT+ journalist Andy Leake. It is run by the community and for the community, created as a space for informal, educational conversations about the LGBT+ community.

We are very excited to welcome Akış Ka - Multi Disciplinary Artist and Activist from Istanbul. Akış Ka is an award-winning performance artist who has helped organise Istanbul pride as part of their committee.

Andy has written about Turkey's LGBT+ scene for Attitude Magazine, having stayed in Istanbul for a month in 2023 and falling in love with the city and the LGBT+ community.

Istanbul's LGBT+ scene is increasingly under threat, with government legislation, escalating arrests and police raids on queer bars. With the most recent Trans and LGBT+ Prides seeing mass arrests of LGBT+ people.

The fight for queer liberation is ongoing, and learning about other LGBT+ communities and how they are fighting oppression can inspire and uplift our scene.

100% of proceeds from tickets will go to Trans+ Yaşam Desteği Platformu, helping raise funds for Trans+ Individuals in Turkey who have been denied access to hormones by recent legislation

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
