See event details

A event on Wednesday 7th January. The event starts at 18:00.

Learn the basics of House dance in this welcoming and supportive class that puts the emphasis on freedom and groove. We’ll cover movement philosophy as well as conditioning and technique, building towards looped sequences to encourage a state of effortless flow.

Drawing on influences from Hip-Hop, Latin, Jazz and Pan African dance styles, House is a community forward fusion dance that emerged in tandem with the music genre in the late ‘80s. We’ll be exploring fundamental aspects of the form inc Jacking, Lofting, footwork, shuffles and spins.

The aim of these sessions is to build confidence and provide an experience of rhythmic unity whilst increasing movement vocabulary, range and stability. It doesn’t matter what point you’re starting from; it’s about CONNECTION not PERFECTION. If you love House music and are looking for a mid week opportunity to get loose and get free -
THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU!
