Bristol Dub Club at Kuumba Centre
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"You can’t talk about local roots and culture without speaking the names of Jah Lokko and Bassi. Two truly foundational sounds enter the Kuumba arena for a killer community dance courtesy of Bristol Dub Club: veteran selections, rootical vibes, and hopefully some proper grub from Empress too. This is dub done the right way."

A clubnight on Saturday 17th January. The event starts at 18:00.

The Bristol Dub Club returns with a heavyweight session — bringing two veteran sound systems into the arena.
For this special link-up, Jah Lokko — a true Bristol institution, established in 1976. Know for dubplate cuts, Jah Lokko has played alongside legends from Shaka to Sir Coxsone. At this point, no introductions are needed.
Joining in the other corner is Sebastian (Bassi), established in 1976. With decades behind the decks, Bassi will dig deep into the dubplate box — no compromise, strictly dubwise!
Warming up the dance is Bristol Reggae Society.
The session takes place at Kuumba Centre, a legendary space for sound system culture.
Make it a date & don’t be late! Saturday the 17th of January!
