Punch Needle Class: Make a Mug Rug at Left Handed Brewery Taproom, St Philips

A event on Friday 26th September. The event starts at 19:00.

Get loopin’! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the art of punch needle rug-making while creating your very own mini rug - perfect as a statement piece for your home, or as a car coaster.
We'll walk you through the process from start to finish, so whether you're a total beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, you'll leave with a completed piece and the know-how to keep creating on your own.
Punch needling is a form of needlework, closely related to rug hooking. Also called 'tufting', punch needling involves using a special hollow needle to punch wool into fabric, which is mounted on an embroidery hoop to keep it taut. The needle creates loops that are kept in place with the tension of the fabric. The end result is a highly textured design which is pleasing to look at and touch.

This is the perfect activity for solo crafters, friends or couples.

What to expect:

- Be guided every step of the way as you get to grips with punch needle
- Leave with a finished coaster for yourself or a friend!
- Colourful wool, punch needles & monks cloth all included
