Rafa Dornelles is an experienced Brazilian guitar player, having played around Brazil and North America (USA and Canada). As a lover of rhythm, Rafa was led by African-American flavours while developing his own languages in the electric guitar. Through the years, he was equally influenced by U.S. Afro rhythms, Latin and Brazilian folk beats.

Currently based in Bristol, Rafa Dornelles Trio is working on a new concept rooted in Rafa’s percussive debut album “Som da Pele”, with a powerful energy and improvisation challenges throughout the concert. Adding some special covers and brand new songs, the trio delivers a different experience every gig. The result is a Brazilian free jazz concert mixed with the Scottish background of the young virtuoso drummer Euan “Les” Leslee and Joe Hill’s strong and solid English bass guitar.
