A event held at L'Étoile Studio on Tomorrow. The event starts at 18:00.
Dreams of water often symbolize the deep currents of our emotional life, the subconscious, and the natural flow of human experience. These dreams, which may include swimming, floating, or navigating vast oceans, generally indicate a process of emotional healing, personal transformation, or a need to connect with one's inner feelings. The context of the dream is important: floating peacefully on calm waters might suggest a sense of inner peace and clarity, while turbulent waves or deep, murky currents could reflect feelings of being overwhelmed, or facing hidden emotional upheavals.
Join us for this session dedicated to the practice of social dreaming drawing, a method that combines shared dream narratives with visual expression to foster insight, connection, and creative art-making. Through sharing dreams and oneiric materials within a group, using free association, participants are encouraged to explore hidden links, patterns, and dynamics within their socio-cultural context. Each participant will create their own drawing or painting, and we will also use shared oneiric materials to collaboratively craft art. This process aims to generate hypotheses that can lead to new perspectives, connections, and positive change.
Developed in the 1980s by Gordon Lawrence, social dreaming is a technique that uses shared dreams to explore group, societal, and cultural dynamics, revealing unconscious themes and sparking new ideas through collective imagery and relationships. Inspired by Mersky (2017), this series emphasizes creating art—drawing dreams and subconscious content—to express beyond words.
In this session, we will focus on visualizing dreams of water to help uncover emotional states and subconscious currents. Swimming fluidly or floating effortlessly may symbolize a desire for emotional liberation, spiritual cleansing, or deep alignment, while turbulent storms or tidal waves can reflect feelings of restriction, anxiety, or internal chaos. Exploring these water dreams through art will provide valuable insights for personal and collective growth.
No prior artistic experience is necessary; materials will be provided.
This practice encourages openness, curiosity, and a shared, creative exploration into the depths of unconscious and social life, making it a meaningful and enjoyable art-making experience. Please note that this is not a therapeutic session; it is a creative and exploratory practice.
Please note that no refunds will be given due to limited spaces. However, tickets are transferable, so you can pass your ticket to someone else if needed.
