Persephone: Queen of the Underworld. Clay Sculpting Class at L'Étoile Studio

A event held at L'Étoile Studio on Saturday 12th September. The event starts at 17:30.

Welcome to a sacred journey of creation and empowerment. In this workshop, we will explore the myth and spirit of Persephone, a Greek goddess whose story reflects the cycles of transformation we all experience. Through her myth, we uncover the profound truth that within every ending lies the seed of a new beginning, and that darkness can be a fertile ground for growth and renewal.

Persephone, daughter of Demeter, embodies the delicate balance between light and shadow. Her descent into the Underworld signifies a necessary pause—a moment of deep inner reflection—and her eventual return symbolizes rebirth and hope. Her story teaches us that embracing our shadows and surrendering to life’s natural cycles can lead to profound strength, resilience, and self-discovery.

What to expect:

- Myth storytelling to inspire reflection
- Crafting a clay figurine of Persephone as a symbol of transformation
- Infusing our creations with personal intentions and insights
- Using our making process as a form of sympathetic magic to convey our reflections and aspirations
- Sharing our insights and celebrating collective renewal through our shared creations

Join us as we embody the spirit of Persephone through art, allowing our hands and hearts to forge symbols of growth, hope, and renewal.

All materials provided; no prior experience necessary.
Whether you have modeled clay before or are new to the art, the making of this figurine is easily achievable for all levels. Instructions and tips will be provided to absolute beginners, while the more experienced will be free to experiment with more complex techniques.
