See event details

A event held at L'Étoile Studio on Saturday 14th March. The event starts at 17:00.

Join us for a creative and historical journey in our Clay Workshop inspired by Baubo, a fascinating figure from ancient Greek mythology. Discover the intriguing myth of Baubo, a lesser-known but powerful goddess associated with humor, fertility, and the joyful aspects of life. Though her story is fragmentary, she is famously known as the nurse of Demeter and a symbol of embracing the body, vitality, and the playful side of femininity. In this workshop, we’ll explore her mythological background—her connections to autochthonous origins, her role in welcoming Demeter, and her symbolic meaning as a figure of joy and resilience. Get hands-on as you sculpt your own Baubo-inspired figurine in clay, delving into the rich symbolism behind this ancient goddess of mirth and vitality. Whether you're interested in mythology, history, or simply want to create a meaningful piece, this workshop offers a perfect blend of learning, creativity, and inspiration. All materials provided; no prior experience necessary. Whether you’re new to clay modeling or experienced, creating your Baubo figurine is accessible to all levels. Clear instructions and helpful tips will be provided for beginners, while more seasoned participants can experiment with more detailed expression. Working with clay in this workshop provides a meditative, tactile experience that encourages mindfulness, reduces stress, and nurtures emotional well-being. Connecting with Baubo’s joyful symbolism invites you to embrace your vitality, humor, and resilience. Refund polcies: Tickets are not refundable unless notified 1 week before the event.
