On the 25th and 26th October, we invite you to get ready for a magical moment in our calendr.
Samhain (popularly known as Halloween) is a Gaelic festivity which marks both the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter, when otherworldly spirits venture to our world, at the door of the ‘darker half’ of the year. When the boundary between worlds is thinner we have a perfect opportunity to undergo a metamorphosis! Come make a magical mask of your own creation, an enchanted object you can wear or use as an amulet and decoration for your house.
From beginning to end you will be guided over the technical and creative process and you will be offered different sources of inspiration while learning the papier-mâché clay technique.
A Samhain inspired soundscape will play alongside the process, snacks will be provided, and the space will be warm and friendly to anyone !

BEGINNERS AND NON CREATIVES ARE WELCOME!

The workshop will be hosted by @lupalu_x , co-director of the ART group Undergrowth C.I.C

The 2 days include:
* Introduction on the calendrical period and folklore related to Samhain / Halloween celebration.
* Introduction to papier-mache clay sculptures.
* Setting an intention with which to imbue our creations.
* Sketching our ideas.
* Building models and structures using different materials.
* Constructing, smoothing, painting and finishing .
* Embodying your mask (optional).

Making Material all included. You will have your own mask at the end of the 2 days.
If there is any specific item, fabric, foraged material you would like to incorporate in your work please bring it with you!
