Playing Dreams or Dreams in music at L'étoile Studio - 18 West Street BS2
See event details

A gig held at L'Étoile Studio on Sunday 25th February. The event starts at 18:30.

On Sunday the 25th of February 2023, the Bristol-based musician and composer Fabio Ferri accompanied by the cornet player Harry Furniss will perform a composition from his debut album 'Übergestalt', inspired by a surreal dream set in the Dolomites, the landscape he is originally from: soundscapes, prepared guitar and advanced looping techniques are the main ingredients for this live performance.

He will then interpret the audience's dreams, who will be invited to share them either on the spot or, anonymously, on a piece of paper before or during the performance. Extemporaneous pieces of music will be created reflecting the setting and emotions of the dreams, inspired by the avant-garde free improvisation movements, modern electronic music, expressionism and, of course, Freud's psychoanalysis. Everyone will be involved.

After the performance, Fabio will collect more dreams and produce and record an orchestral solo guitar album where each track corresponds to a dream.

The performance will take place at L'étoile Studio on the occasion of the exhibition
