A event held at L'Étoile Studio on Thursday 11th May. The event starts at 17:30.

SACRED FEMININE - THE CREATION OF STATUETTES AND EFFIGIES OF FEMALE GODDESSES
The Sacred Feminine (or Divine Feminine) is an energy present in all human beings and an authentic and profound knowledge of it can help us to develop greater emotional balance and to proceed with certainty on our path of inner transformation living in a positive relationship with the feminine aspects within us.
There is a long tradition of celebrating the divine feminine in many cultures around the world involving the creation of statuettes and effigies of female goddesses. From the most ancient prehistoric mother goddesses to the Greco-Roman pantheon, to the traditions of Celtic, Norse and Egyptian mythology and so on, we find many figures that have been honoured and celebrated all over time.

BAUBO - ORIGINS AND MYTHS
On the occasion of this event, we will create a figurine of Baubo - the Greek goddess of obscenity, sexuality and fertility! Baubo is reminiscent of Neolithic female deities, mysterious in their bodily incompleteness, sometimes manifested by mutilation in the limbs and at other times in the head, but indicating signs of fertility. Known as the goddess of mirth, she is depicted as bawdy and sexually liberated and is said to have jested with Demeter when that god was mourning the loss of her daughter, Persephone. We will trace the origins and myths of her figure and more in general how to set up an altar dedicated to the goddesses in our home and how to meditate to bring their power into our lives.

Whether you have modelled clay before or are new to the art, the making of this figurine is easily achievable for all levels.
Instructions will be given to the absolute beginners for creating a basic one while the more experienced will be free to experiment with a more complicated making.
Techniques and tips will be explained and materials and tools provided.
