YELLATONE

Yellatone, AKA Ashley Loxton (b. 1984) is a Visual and Spoken Word artist living in Bristol.
His visual practice consists of painting, reused fabric, and found material.

He has exhibited in shows including: 'Places Faces Things', 'Here We Go Again'. Solo exhibitions include: 'Crowd Pleaser', 'Big Yellow' and ‘Going Home’

His Poetry reconfigures the vocabulary and language, from musical subcultures of his formative years (Drum & Bass, Uk Rap). Alternating between discursive prose, Spoken Word and Rap, he uses social deconstruction, and story-telling, to address personal historical trauma and euphoric recall.

Yellatone has worked with producers in London and Bristol. He has performed at The Bomb Factory (Archway, London), and South London Gallery (Peckham, London).

In January 2025 he released his first studio album titled Simulacrum. This was produced by Bristol producer Frenic. The album explores the fast evolving presence of AI, and the experience of what it’s like to exist in mid 2020s, caught in the currents of technology, reality and everything in between.
