Join Madeleine’s Magic for an immersive introduction to candle magic, exploring its history, symbolism and use across different magical traditions before putting what you’ve learned into practice.

Candles have been used in ritual and magical practices for centuries, with fire, light and flame carrying powerful symbolic meanings across cultures. We’ll explore some of the history and traditions surrounding candle magic, as well as the different ways candles can be incorporated into rituals, spells and personal practice.

You’ll learn how to work with colour correspondences, exploring the different meanings and associations traditionally connected with candle colours, alongside herbal correspondences, looking at the magical associations of herbs and spices and how they can be chosen to support different purposes. We’ll also explore how these correspondences can be combined to create a more personal and considered magical practice.

The workshop includes a hands-on candle dressing activity where you’ll create your own magical candle using oil, herbs and spices. You’ll have the opportunity to choose your ingredients based on the correspondences that resonate with your chosen purpose, creating something that is uniquely yours. Your finished candle will be yours to take home and incorporate into your own rituals and practice.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of the most accessible forms of magic, develop your understanding of magical correspondences and spend an evening exploring the symbolism and ritual use of candles in a relaxed, creative setting.

No previous experience is needed, and you’re welcome whether you’re completely new to candle magic or already have your own magical practice.
