“Writing is medicine. It’s an appropriate antidote to injury. It is an appropriate companion to any difficult change.” – Julia Cameron, author of The Artists Way
Are you feeling in need of clarity and connection after the winter months? Do you long to connect with the catharsis of a creative practice? Join Addi P - musician, writer and mental health practitioner - for a workshop designed to use the practice of writing to restore ourselves to a state of wellbeing.
* What to Expect *
Through meditation and nervous system exercises we will return to ourselves, finding peace and calm within our being, moving out of survival mode and into creation. From this place, we will explore intuitive or flow writing, journalling and writing from our senses.
I wholeheartedly believe that everyone is creative, whether or not you identify as a 'creative person'. This workshop is an invitation to reject the presence of ego and external narratives within our creative practice, in order to reconnect to our innate source of creativity, play and exploration. By focusing on process over outcome, we can enter into a deeply cathartic flow state.
Whether you are a practicing writer or you would simply like to explore new tools to regulate your mental health in community, everyone is welcome. No previous experience of creative writing or journalling in necessary.
Addi P is a musician, writer and creative facilitator who has been holding space for participants to tap into their innate creativity for over 5 years. She has facilitated workshops at festivals and events across the UK and has degrees in both Creative Writing (BAHons) and Songwriting (MA).
Writing can be a highly beneficial tool to inquire into ourselves, however this workshop is not a replacement for therapy and Addi is not a trained therapist.
