Join us for an evening of experimentation on how colours, shapes, and melodies intertwine, transforming auditory sensations into vibrant visual landscapes.
Witness 30 Circles’ masterful improvisations that evoke emotion and imagination, inviting you to see the harmony between sight and sound in a truly immersive live performance.
This session effectively integrates sensory perception and artistic expression by guiding participants to connect internal visual impressions with sound, first through deliberate drawings based on their initial responses to simple sounds and then through spontaneous doodling inspired by improvisational music by 30 Circles.
30 Circles encompasses the repertoire of ambient woodwind soundscapes performed and produced by Dave Colebourn, a professional saxophonist based in Bristol, UK.
Dave plays fully live and draws from a wide variety of influences; his music is perhaps best described as a chilling fusion of minimalist music, video game soundtracks and the most expansive of film scores. To this, he adds a free-flowing combination of richly textured melodies and improvisation to create truly unique music for woodwinds.
The workshop is facilitated by Marta Isabella Reina, a Bristol-based visual artist with a PhD in graphic design, who specialises in running workshops and classes aimed at unlocking creativity and encouraging experimentation across various media, fostering a dynamic environment for artistic exploration.
All materials will be provided, but you're also welcome to bring your supplies to personalise your experience.
