A Conversation on Intentional Dreaming at L'étoile Studio - 18 West Street BS2

A event held at L'Étoile Studio on Wednesday 11th October. The event starts at 19:30.

On the 11th of October, L'étoile Studio has the pleasure of hosting Alex Heron, an experienced teacher and trainer who has been studying dreaming in its many guises for over 30 years and has run dreamwork courses internationally for 6 years.
The event will be an occasion to learn more about intentional dreaming, the practice of shaping an intention/aspiration before going to sleep and integrating it into the reservoirs of your unconscious.

A number of people are able to experience something called lucid dreaming, and some of them are even able to control certain elements of their nightly dreams or to meet in dreams with other people.

The event aims to help us understand the experience of lucid dreams, their applications, how to have them, and what they tell us about the dreaming brain.
We'll also explore the tradition of lucid dreaming in different cultural traditions, particularly for indigenous cultures. Ancient people assign equal value to both the dream and daily life, and dreams serve as their guides to both ritual and individual behaviour.

We will reflect by sharing experiences about how something that happens in a dream could help you practice something, and expand your imagination or view on life. We will see how sharing dreams can be beneficial in increasing our connection with others and improving relationships and which are the most diffused practices nowadays (dream circles, social dreaming groups, etc.). We will discuss the importance of recovering the significance of dreaming in society.

The conversation will be led by Marta Isabella Reina, a visual artist based in Bristol who works on drawing dreams as a way to internalise and reprocess the oneiric contents. She is doing research on mutual dreaming (www.doppelnovelle.com) and runs social dreaming (+drawing) sessions in Bristol.
