Sharing Circle for Performing Artists at L'Étoile Studio
See event details

A event held at L'Étoile Studio on Today. The event starts at 19:30.

“Am I actually talented or are they just being polite?”

“How can I be authentic whilst presenting my art?”

“Why does awe keep turning into jealousy?”

Being a performer comes with its own unique set of challenges, many of which we face alone. This circle is intended to offer you a safe container within which to explore these challenges, amongst peers who truly understand them. It will be a facilitated space, welcoming to all kinds of performers.

Common topics that emerge include imposter syndrome, comparison and jealousy, the harsh inner critic, self doubt, or the doubt in one’s project- anything that you bring is welcome and valid.

You will have the opportunity to share your own experiences, as well as to listen to others, and bring a softness to the feeling that ‘it’s only me who feels this’.

Doors open at 7pm. Tea and biscuits will be available, and I kindly ask that you arrive before 7:30pm as this is when we will begin.

We will start with an introduction to the purpose and origin of the circle

From there, we will lay some ground rules, so that everyone feels safe and comfortable.

Following this, a short grounding exercise to bring you into the space, inviting you to gently put down any distractions from the day.

After that the space will be open for sharing, as we move around the circle. You’re always welcome to pass- listening is also participation.

After we formally bring the circle to a close, there will be space to finish your tea, chat more informally, and transition gently into the rest of your evening.
