Invicta take on Bristol Allstars in their 2nd annual charity football match! Lockleaze Sports Centre, Bonnington Walk, Lockleaze, Bristol BS7 9XF. Kick Off: 2pm
This charity match will be raising money for Music Venue Trust (MVT). MVT is a UK registered charity which acts to protect, secure and improve Grassroots Music Venues. Their mission is to ensure that small, independent venues can survive and thrive, recognising their critical role in nurturing new talent and sustaining local music ecosystems.
In this day and age where music venues are closing daily in the UK, this work done by MVT in supporting them is key in upholding the foundation of live music in the UK and the birthing grounds / discovery sites of upcoming, underground artists.
In Bristol, for example, we've seen Blue Mountain, Old Crown Court, Crofter's Rights and now Motion all closing down, removing areas for grassroots artists to make names for themselves. MVT aims to help stop this recurring pattern and all ticket proceeds from this will be going to them.
