Welcome one welcome all to The House of Savalon's bank holiday anti-royal rave! The only Icons for us are the queer ones: the gender benders, the party starters, the trailblazers and the transgender Deities once revered for their gender nonconforming ways now outlawed thanks to a blasphemous British Empire that exported hate around their world and then looked down upon it by claiming that they themselves were the democratic beacons of progress. The queer icons cry: Blasphemy! Down with the King who sits on the throne! Down with the Parliament causing grief in our homes ! Down with the system that brings us down! The queer icons say, "Come Together and Unite!" The House of Savalon Presents: The Queer Icons Edition. We'll bring to you a cabaret full of the most outrageous anti-royal anti-establishment sentiment from some of The House of Savalon's most ridiculous queer icons before partying into the early hours of the night. What better way to kickstart a bank holiday weekend? This show is being launched as a fundraiser for Astro's show 'Switchboard' which will be landing on the Bristol Old Vic's Weston studio stage on 3rd and 4th of July as part of Pride month. As the research for this show looked at queer activism in the 70s and 80s that led to us having our rights today, it felt only right to create a night dedicated to honouring all of them and all of you. We're excited to bring our community back into the walls of the Loco Klub for an anti-royal rave we hope none of you will ever forgot.
