Attempts On Her Life at The Loco Klub
See event details

A event held at The Loco Klub on Monday 18th March. The event starts at 19:30.

It’s timely. It’s distressing. It’s funny. It’s sick. It’s sexy. It’s dark. It’s political. It’s personal. It’s obscene.
It’s an attempt to encapsulate our time.

In a post-modern, post-radical, post-human, post-theatrical world, our ensemble takes to the stage, armed with a salmon and screwdriver.
Through the words of Martin Crimp, one of the most well-renowned British playwrights of the twenty-first century, we offer our theatre in its undigested form.

Who is Anne?
She’s the girl next door
She’s the fatal flaw
She’s the reason for the Trojan war
She’s a pornographic movie star
A killer, and a brand of car.

She exists in the words of people who do not know her
And she could be any one of us

Sentenced to a life under observation
Forced to find a meaning Compelled to find connection
When the world beyond theatre is splintering, we stand on a stage with a broken mirror.

Please read before purchasing tickets:
This play is an unfiltered exploration of the varied human experience of our world, including themes, events, and thoughts that some viewers may find distressing. We encourage our audience to engage in some difficult topics, but in a safe way. Please consider whether you are currently in a position to do so.

This production explores themes of suicide, conflict, murder, racism, xenophobia, and misogyny. There are brief, but explicit references to child abuse; sexual and physical violence; and murder. None of these are physically depicted. There is the use of strong and discriminatory language throughout.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our director, Bea Henderson ([email protected]); producer, Ava Borthwick ([email protected]); welfare representative, Libby Gutterage-Smith ([email protected]); or the venue’s accessibility leader ([email protected]).
