After taking a break for the last part of 2025, PLU return celebrate 14yrs in the dance and what a treat we have for you...

GAG REFLEX
joining us to headline and close out our 14th Beeeeday Dance, we are super honoured to be welcoming Gag Reflex. If you have been coming to PLU for a few years you will know we take great pleasure in unearthing amazing DJ talent that not many folk have heard of YET!!! You are in for a sonic treat with Gag Reflex on the decks...trust!!

Originally from Seattle and now based in Berlin, Gag Reflex has spent the past few years gathering pace as a DJ in the U.S.

With residencies in Seattle, Portland and San Francisco - and more recently with club appearances in Berlin, Lisbon, and Prague, along with mixes for platforms including Rinse FM, Ransom Note and Honey Soundsystem.

As a producer, her work nods variously to classic rave, techno, dubstep, and breaks influences, with a penchant for percussion and dark, oppressive atmospherics.

With previous releases coming via Scuffed Recordings, /none, Circa AD and Naive sublabels Angel and Naivety, Gag Reflex has gone a long way to establishing her sound and picking up some heavyweight support in the process.

Kundai (Live)

In support will be amazing Zimbabwe-born Londoner Kundai. We had booked them for PLU Summer Camp but sadly had to pull out last minute so we are so thrilled to have them join us for our 14th Beeeeday Dance.

Kundai lives and creates art in the key of exuberance. From her fashion design to her unabashed exploration of self via club-adjacent outsider pop, Kundai’s celebratory approach to life––inclusive of vulnerability and uncertainty––is unleashed with vocal live set at PLU's 14th Birthday Dance.

Vibrant forms emerge in murky territory and Kundai has a way of bringing them to light.

Eccentricities and imperfections are welcomed in her production aesthetic, brimming with spontaneity. Robust rhythm sections offset delicate falsetto musings and playful mallets, while distorted hand drums careen over chopped and screwed chants and MC-style talk-singing.

All of these seem to be familiar elements in isolation but strike a wild combination in synergy––a theme that might tap into the nature of the artist herself. The sum of varied life experiences and self- questioning that come for all human beings, but queer immigrants in particular, you can hear Kundai’s music practice polishing the kernel of who she is and who she is constantly becoming.

Recently playing alongside Scratchclart, and Toya Delazy, Kundai can be seen performing at events for the likes of Keep Hush, Hor Berlin, Two Shell, The Barbican and many more.

peoplelkeusdj will be opening the dance with their usual wonky, off kilter electronics.

Entry requirements: 18+
