A
clubnight
held at Loco Klub
on Saturday 25th November. The event starts at 22:00.
Loco presents two category defying trailblazers for a night of razor sharp club music alongside immersive performance from the Invisible Circus.
Devoid of limitation TAAHLIAH and IDENTIFIED PATIENT will weave mind altering sounds straight from clubs of the future, supported by local favourites R.E.D & Specialist deep in our Victorian Tunnels underneath Temple Meads.
TAAHLIAH:
Heralding a new dawn in electronic music, TAAHLIAH constantly seems to challenge the idea that fun and experimental are antonyms. Nothing expresses that better than her viral Boiler Room where mainstream EDM & the sharpest edge of contemporary electronic music cohabit on a tracklist that reads like a manifesto for dance music’s future.
TAAHLIAH has toured with Bristol legends Giant Swan, along with providing remixes for global names like Loraine James & UNIIQU3. She has filled iconic venues like Southbank Centre for a one-off collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra, as well as playing European clubbing flagships such as Fabric & Razzmatazz
Hailing from Glasgow, TAAHLIAH came to music production through her dissatisfaction with the music she was hearing at parties, starting by creating her own edits; layering warped vocals atop hard dance tracks and morphing mainstream pop tunes into experimental club-ready anthems.
Her original productions took centre-stage with the release of her mini-album Angelica in the summer of 2021 via London label untitled (recs) which went on to win Best Independent EP/Mixtape at the AIM Awards. Throughout the record, TAAHLIAH details a range of autobiographical experiences that have come to shape her as a person and an artist. Always, as TAAHLIAH seeks to represent and bring visibility to her community, she invariably ends up conveying universal messages of power, acceptance, bravery and euphoric fun.
Identified Patient:
Certifiably one of the most revered underground DJs of the Netherlands, Job Veerman, better Identified Patient, has made a name for himself as an otherworldly storyteller. His leftfield mixes take the listener on a white-knuckle ride of twists and turns, with no genre, tempo, or mood off-limits. The Amsterdam-based artist made his ascension with some of Rotterdam’s finest imprints, all the while filling dance floors across the country and throughout Europe. His style fuses raw aesthetics with unrivaled, relentless energy which he translates into his productions as fluidly as his DJ sets.
With a trademark sound that drifts between the experimental sides of techno, breaks, acid, dub, and jungle, the Amsterdam-based artist made his ascension with some of Rotterdam’s finest imprints, all the while filling dance floors across the country and throughout Europe. His style fuses raw aesthetics with unrivaled, relentless energy which he translates into his productions as fluidly as his DJ sets.
R.E.D b2b Specialist
Welsh native and Red Waxxx label head, R.E.D has delivered memorable and diverse sets at UNFOLD, Creatures and Fabric to spellbinding effect. R.E.D's taste has no limitations - spanning multiple genres from leftfield techno to progressive and beyond with an affinity for the mystical and the mind-boggling.
She will play b2b with Specialist, the new solo alias from 1/2 of Bristol favourites The Milkshake Boys. Alongside curating event and label series The Bottle, he has played at UK institutions like Corsica Studios, Bristols Strange Brew & The Vaults, laying down acid flecked and groove laden house and techno, as comfortable cruising ethereal highs as reaching for warped bass driven workouts.
Alongside this line-up will be immersive performance provided by the world renowned Invisible Circus.
