That's What She Said* is "feminism at its ruthless best." - (Blouinart), "the biggest spoken word night in London for women" (Evening Standard) and was shortlisted for Best Spoken Word Night in the UK (Saboteur Awards).
**That's What She Said was named to take power back into the phrase often used to joke about sex workers. We welcome any non-binary and self-identifying womxn comrades to our stage and don't wish to exclude them because of our name!
Expect fierce, fabulous, feminist spoken word, hosted by DIY punk poet Bridget Hart. As always, we'll be showcasing the best new writing and performance by womxn and non-binary writers, featuring iconic and emerging authors with a mix of performance, poetry, storytelling, slam and more.

⭐ SHAREEFA ENERGY ⭐
Shareefa Energy (@ShareefaEnergy) is a spoken word poet and workshop facilitator. Her poetry is raw, honest and consistent against injustice. Witnessing her performing has been described as an almost religious experience. She was awarded with the UK Entertainment Best Poet 2017 Award and a nominee for the Eastern Eye Arts, Culture & Theatre 2019 award by the Arts Council. She released her spoken word neo-soul jazz EP 'Reasoning with Self' in 2015.
Her poetry has featured on BBC The One Show, Channel 4 and ITV. Shareefa performed at Poetry Meets Hip Hop in Berlin, the Verve Festival and The Flamenco Festival 2019. She has facilitated creative writing poetry workshops internationally, from Palestine to Sierra Leone.
Her debut poetry collection Galaxy Walk is out now.
MUNEERA PILGRIM
Muneera Pilgrim is an international poet, writer and cultural producer, living between Bristol and London. She is one half of the Muslim female duo Poetic Pilgrimage. Muneera conducts expressive based, purpose-driven workshops in women’s groups, community groups,schools, universities, campfires, and wherever humankind commune. She shares art, guest lectures, host and finds alternative ways to educate and exchange ideas. She is a writer for BBC Radio 2 Pause for Thought, and is the current artist in residence with The English Touring Theatre. She has contributed to The Guardian, Amaliah, Huffington Post, The Independent, Al Jazeera Blog, Black Ballard and various other digital and print platforms. She has also recently started her own blog, Muni Pilgrim: Epic and not so.
GEORGIA STRIDE
'Georgia is a spoken word poet from Bristol and has been performing her poetry at open mic’s, slams and festivals around the South West for three years. She has been described as having ‘An honest, tender and innately powerful ability to write and perform poetry in which an audience can find parts of themselves inside of’. She is currently a member of the Bristol Hammer and Tongue team, hosting their slam and introducing headline acts. Georgia has been involved in this year’s Bristol poetry festival, LYRA, performed at ‘Shindig’ festival in May and earlier this year was selected to partake in the BBC ‘Words First’ scheme in conjunction with Apples and Snakes. Georgia has also performed at this year’s ‘Bristol Harbour Festival’, ‘Shambala’ and Cheltenham Festival’s ‘Lit Crawl’ where she supported Nikita Gill. Georgia is currently working with Cheltenham Festivals and Eastside Educational Trust delivering poetry workshops to primary schools in Gloucestershire.’ - Rebecca Tantony
