To be in the draw for the slam please email [email protected] before 10am on 01/08/2025. You do not need to buy a ticket if you are competing.

The winner of the slam will be paid a fee of £60 to perform as the support act for Jasmine Gardosi at our September open mic on 24/9/25.

Satellite of Love Poetry and Spoken Word run monthly events, workshops and writing retreats. Our monthly events at the Loco Klub offer a platform for local and touring poets, open mic and our Community Poem.

How the slam works:

The slam is broken up into three stages; The Opening Round of 15; the Semi Finals; the Final.

The Opening Round will be broken up in to 5 heats of 3. The winner of each heat plus the highest scoring runner up will go through to the Semi Finals.

The Semi Finals are 2 heats of 3. The winner of each plus highest scoring runner up will go through to the Final.

The highest scoring poet in the Final wins.
