A
event
on Sunday 22nd June. The event starts at 12:00.
We Demand Change is coming to Bristol for a day of panels, workshops, and discussions bringing together different campaigners, trade unionists, and activists.
It is about organising to urgently lift the overall level of resistance locally and nationally as an alternative to Keir Starmer's agenda of benefit cuts to fund more war and militarism; tailing the far-right anti-migrant agenda and fuelling the rise of Reform Uk; support for Israeli genocide in Palestine; and supporting policies which further drive us towards climate catastrophe.
Speakers include: Grace Blakely (author and economist), Andrew Feinstein (campaigner), Salma Yaqoob (campaigner), Zack Polanski (Green Party), Lindsey German (Stop the War), Lewis Nielsen & Artin Giles (We Demand Change).
Workshops, with the involvement of local campaigns and community groups, include:
PALESTINE - the campaign against genocide and boycotting apartheid
WELFARE NOT WARFARE - how do we put ordinary people first?
FIGHTING THE FAR RIGHT - resisting the rise of racism, misogyny, and transphobia
ELECTIONS AND THE LEFT - do we need a new party?
WORKERS FIGHT BACK - politicising workplaces and the new strike wave
CLIMATE CRISIS - mobilising to stop climate catastrophe
