Through the Bottleneck at Malcolm X Community Centre
See event details

A event on Saturday 11th April. The event starts at 10:00.

"What the hell is GOING ON? Why are there more wars, a collapsing biosphere, rising division, populism and a surging far right, and living standards declining? What's going to happen to my life, family, community and world? Can I do anything for the big picture and those I love?"

If you're feeling this, you're not alone! This workshop is for anyone who's feeling the anxiety and
confusion of what's going on in our world today. Join us for a day of connection, exploration, grief tending, laughter, performance, and a unique investigation of where society is, how we got here, what happens next, and how we can respond with love and resilience.

Held by experts, grief tenders, artists, performers, community organisers, and hopeful humans. Hosted by community led charity Take the Jump. Check out the web page for full details of the day: takethejump.org/bottleneck

This transformative day will offer:

1. Clarity on what is going on in the world and what has led to it, what is likely to happen in the next 10–50 years, and what this means in practical terms for our own lives, families and communities.
2. Emotional and inner tools to relate to this in a healthy, healing and joyous way.
3. Practical steps that can be taken to build individual and community resilience as these changes happen, so we can still live thriving lives, with a toolkit of resources provided to use going forward.
4. A space where we can share how we're feeling, connect with our community and grow networks of support.
5. Poetry, music and delicious food (included in ticket).

This event will offer an analysis looking at our past, present and future. Mapping the big 'themes' of our day, and crucially, how they relate to each other. A combination of systems theory, data analysis and intuition to understand the feedback loops shaping our world and future. This won't always be easy listening — the findings don't paint a rosy picture. But this honest session will be clear on the facts, and is grounded in a love for and trust in the potential of human nature and spirit. And is firmly focused on a participatory exploration of how we can shepherd the bright future our beautiful natures make possible.
