Fragments of Us by Ramelle Williams & Fenton Fleming at Millenium Square
See event details

A event on Wednesday 18th June. The event starts at 19:00.

Fragments of Us is a free outdoor gathering part film screening, part live dance performance, part open jam. Created by Ramelle Williams and Fenton Fleming, it’s happening right in the heart of Millennium Square, and you’re invited.
We kick things off with a short film that moves through Bristol’s streets and back-alleys – places you’ll recognise, others you might’ve missed – brought to life through dance, stop-motion, and a deep love for the texture and spirit of the city.
Then it all spills out into the square.
A live solo performance from Ramelle takes the energy from the screen and throws it into the space – raw, emotional, and alive. And to close the night: the floor is yours. Whether you’re ready to move, or just want to soak it all in, this is a space for connection, expression, and being in the moment.
Come through and be part of the rhythm.

Fragments of Us is part of Confluence – a long-form residency project. Since December 2023, MAYK has invited artists from across Bristol to explore the changing city and to think about how we navigate these places we call home. Throughout the spring, three more artists – Howl Yuan, Dhaqan Collective and Iman Sultan-West – are also sharing the fruits of these creative investigations with audiences in sites and locations across the city.

Confluence is a production by MAYK, commissioned by Ginkgo Projects for Redcliffe Quarter with the support of Grainger plc

About Ramelle
Popper & experimental dance artist Ramelle Williams dance journey began in 2008 with Angels Dance Academy, where his team claimed second place at the ISAF Worlds — a moment that solidified his love for performance.

After relocating to London, Ramelle found himself thriving in the competitive scene, winning battles like Breaking the Bay, World of Dance, What You Got, and Go Hard or Go Home. Each victory pushing him to refine his craft and deepen his connection to the art of dance.

Beyond the stage, his work has been featured in Virgin advertisements and the YouTube Ritual series, showcasing his versatility as a performer. Gracing some of the UK’s biggest stages, including Glastonbury, Boomtown, and Love Festival, bringing his energy and passion to live audiences.

‘Dance isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. From competitive battles to transformative performances, I’m constantly pushing boundaries, inspiring others, and evolving as an artist.’ Ramelle Williams

About Fenton
Fenton is a photographer and visual artist from Bristol. His collaborative work is rooted in vibrant and playful imagery in music, fashion, and dance, whilst his personal practice stretches more broadly in context, often with a more surreal and solemn tone. Across both, the subjects in his photography can be seen to inhabit a quiet beauty within exaggerated and distorted realities.

Using a wide range of experiences and influences — from dance styles like popping, krump, and breaking, to wider Hip Hop culture, music, design, architecture, and visual art. He’s interested in ideas like afro-surrealism and the social production of space, which inform how he thinks about bodies, environments, and the atmospheres they generate.
