The Mothers Ruin has been doing its thing in St. Nick's market since 2007. Alongside the Gryphon, the Ruin is Bristol's best harder-edged bar frequented by rocker/metal kids. From blues, math rock, post-rock, punk, indie and experimental, Mothers Ruin throws a broad net for music heads - although a lot of UWE/Bristol Uni students may be there for the £2.50 house beer/cider and Thursday quizzes.
Their newly refurbed basement occasionally caters for more club focused nights (like Illegal Data). With a 2am license it's one of our more treasured venues in the centre of Bristol.
