A
clubnight
held at Motion
on Sunday 28th October. The event starts at 19:00.
When he first emerged in 2010, George Fitzgerald was part of the post-
dubstep zeitgeist that found the bass-led phenomenon spreading its wings
and embracing the long-standing traditions of house, techno and more
besides. As it turns out, Fitzgerald’s inventive, melodic sound struck a chord
that ensured him instant notoriety, signing to Hotflush, Aus Music and quickly
establishing his own Doublesix label. As he’s grown as an artist, so his sound
has broadened, and after a sabbatical to focus on new directions, he re-
emerged in late 2017 with a synth-powered live group, rendering his fluttering
musicality and ear-snagging grooves with the natural human qualities of a
traditional band. His performance is sure to be spellbinding when he brings
this very live show to the Marble Factory, drawing on material from his recent
All That Must Be album and no doubt some of the big hitters from his
expansive back catalogue.
