When salsa’s chirpy dance craze moved from Havana to New York it soon sharpened into a tighter instrumental version known as Salsa Dura. When Cuban trumpet maestro Michel Padron moved from Havana to Bristol he brought with him soaring virtuosity and rhythmic style that has injected authentic style into the local salsa scene. Saoco Collective is his new 5-piece Salsa Dura project and it’s a corker.
