As the days get warmer and the sun shines brighter, your highest protection sun-specs are advised… for the rays beaming off Sir Bald Diddley’s bonce are said to be as deadly as the killer surf guitar tone he prepares to unleash upon No. 1 Harbourside this July 2nd…

'Sir Bald Diddley & his Ripcurls' play surf n garage rock n roll like they think it's still 1963! Think 'Louie, Louie', 'The Bird Is The Word', dumb teen dance crazes and twangy, echoey surf n turf guitar/saxophone instrumentals and you've probably got the idea!!!!!

'Sir Bald Diddley & his Ripcurls' originally formed as 'The Big Wigs' over thirty years ago. They were the UKs first surf rock n roll instrumental 'revival' band (not that 'revival" was ever really a suitable description) and were one of only a handful of bands leading the worldwide 90s surf/garage/rock n roll instrumental wave.

Championed by the likes of John Peel, Mark Lamar, Mark Radcliffe and many others they played a number of BBC radio sessions, recorded several albums and toured all over, supporting Dick Dale himself on a number of occasions! Later in the mid 90s they became 'The Wig-Outs' and continued to record and tour as far as Japan (playing with the 5678s) and Australia.

In 2014 the guys decided to 'get the band back together'. Thus ‘Sir Bald Diddley & his Ripcurls’ were born. ‘The Ripcurls’ feature 3 original 'Big Wigs' and are already into a busy in personal appearance schedule. They have recorded two new albums and a clutch of singles. More releases are in the pipeline. They have played several prestigious festivals and venues in mainland europe, including Bule Bule and Surforama.

So get ready to twist, stomp, surf n shake and flip your wig!
